On November 22, I needed to courier a document to someone about 1km away, signature required. I went to Canada Post, paid $18 for a next-day envelope and another $2 for the signature required sticker.

The letter was literally loaded into the Canada Post truck at the same time I was leaving the shop. The tracking number read “Expected delivery between 10-2pm November 24th” which was a bit late considering I paid for next-day service, but whatever.

As of the 24th, it’s “in transit” in Mississauga, not delivered – yet still “expected between 10-2p”, despite it being almost 8pm.

I’m not sure why it went to Mississauga first, but I can certainly see why the service cost so much.
